Homeworld 2 @ Homelanfed.com
Posted in Homeworld 2 by Administrator on July 28th, 2003
Jcal over at Homelanfed.com has done up a preview of Homeworld 2 which looks to be based on the preview build that went out at the start of July.
Graphically, the game is how we saw it at GDC in March, the VUGames press event in April and at E3 in May; in other words, simply gorgeous. In fact our press build is almost two months old so we expect the final result to be a bit better looking. The textures and lighting effects are impressive and we still like seeing little things in the game like missiles that curve and twist slightly before they hit their target and dust from resource collectors falling off them when they have a full load. Ship designs are clearly based on the original game but have more of a pronounced anime influence this time and the sense of massive battles between huge space armadas is even more pronounced in Homeworld 2.
There are 3 “new” screenshots included.

Official HW2 Ship Date Info.
Posted in Homeworld 2 by Administrator on July 22nd, 2003
While providing no specific ship date, Alex Rodberg has posted that HW2 will not, as previously indicated, be a world wide simultaneous ship.
There’s always a small delay in localizing (translating) the materials and shipping them to the various territories. We strive to get full global distribution no more than a month after initial release. We’re already working with the localization teams, and right now we’re on track to deliver the European versions just weeks after HW2 ships in the States. Australia and NZ typically get US masters so there shouldn’t be a big difference there either.
I have always been curious as to what the logisitical reasons are (aside from Language localization for audio and packaging) for US made games to show up later in other regions (especially in the, as far as I know, English speaking United Kingdom) . Hopefully Marweas will be able to provide some enlightenment.
