A Relic representative has asked us to post a poll asking if you’d purchase a Homeworld 2 Soundtrack.

As there are more registered users on the forums, I have added the poll there. Please feel free to answer it, and provide feedback.

SLS Recorded Game Viewer

Posted in Homeworld by on October 24th, 2003

Ultra Dingus has released an updated Recorded Game viewer for Homeworld. Check it out here.

SLS Recorded Game Viewer is now up to version 5.0. This newest version benefits directly from the recent release of the Homeworld source code. I was able to improve upon the source code for relic’s pktview.exe program and add this functionality in to SLS Recorded Game Viewer 5.0.

Remember, that’s for Homeworld, not Homeworld 2.

RN Links Update

Posted in General by on October 24th, 2003

It is that time of year again! The 1st annual fansite and links round up!

It has been a while since we updated our links. Seeing as there are probably some fansites that we have missed, please feel free to drop me a line with a link to your favorite Relic related resource that is not on our list. Especially interested in unlisted Impossible Creatures fansites, Homeworld fansites, Homeworld Cataclysm Fansites, and Homeworld 2 Fansites (especially modding links).

Gamer’s Pulse Review

Posted in Homeworld 2 by on October 20th, 2003

Gamer’s Pulse has reviewed HW2. Their score, 46 out of 50.

Continuing the saga of one of gaming’s most beloved strategy games, Homeworld 2 blends challenging real-time strategy gameplay with gorgeous visuals and an epic story. With improved controls and interface, the game resolves the issues found in the original while keeping intact its magnificent spirit. Although some may find it to be overly difficult, Homeworld 2 can become accessible to those willing to develop their skills as a gamer. Homeworld 2 doesn’t include a wealth of additions over the first game, but the outstanding design of the original downplays the necessity of adding more than solutions to an already great game; in essence, Homeworld 2 offers more of the same superb design with enhancements to presentation and controls. The quintessential next-generation space strategy game, Homeworld 2 is a modern masterpiece deserving of any praise that may happen to hyper jump its way.

Review at Computer and Video Games

Posted in Homeworld 2 by on October 20th, 2003

Computer and Video Games has reviewed HW2. The score, 81/100.

Normally, there’d be a quote here, but their site is dumb and requires you to login to view a review if you view it more than once. Sillyness I say, Sillyness.

Check it out here if you like.
