Company of Heroes @ Gamecloud

Gamecloud’s done a review of the E3 demos of Company of Heroes.

The biggest selling point of Company of Heroes in our E3 demo was the sheer destruction shown. The French village at the center of the demo was reduced to near total rubble by the time the demo was finish. Village walls crumbled under tank fire. Soldiers flew into the air via mortar shells. Even the ground exhibited craters that were generated by real shells. Of course, all of this means that the typical strategies employed by most RTS games go straight out the window in this game. No longer will players feel comforted hiding behind a wall or rock that can’t be blown up even by a nuclear blast.
