Hi hi!
Two weeks have passed, and that means it’s time for our bi-weekly forum roundup thing where we discuss threads and stuff. Yeah. Our topic today: “Moe is so good with the words, I wish I could express myself as eloquently as he does!”
However, in keeping with the whole Halloween thing, we also have this scary theme thing going. This is the 13th forum roundup, and 13 is a very scary and mysterious number. Boo!
Diving right into the fun, we have some community-related stuff up first. For starters, our tracker for the Child’s Play is up, so you can start donating money via PayPal or credit card. We expect the Amazon wishlists to appear shortly, so if you prefer to donate toys rather than money you will be able to do that as well.
For those of you who have no clue what the hell I’m talking about: Child’s Play is a charity started by Penny Arcade that aims to provide sick children with toys for christmas. You can either donate money or pick a children’s hospital from a list and buy a toy for them from an amazon.com wish list.
This year the RelicNews community wants to be a major contributor. You can read about our tracker and the project in this announcement.
Next up: me and my large mouth. So I make a harmless joke in that Child’s Play thread. Well, we are all used to that by now, and I expected you guys to do what you normally do, heck, what every sane person should do, and that is ignore me. Obviously that didn’t happen this time. Ionfish took me seriously. The result is this thread.
Would you buy a RelicNews.com T-shirt? I think it’s a fabulous idea coming from a fantastic guy, but some people might argue that I’m a little biased. Still, it would definitely rock. Admittedly a T-shirt such as this might be a little on the geeky side, but it’s much better than wearing a “1337″ or “RTFM” shirt. And girls would still like you because they would see that you support an awesome community. In fact, if this T-shirt were to be made, and you were to buy it, I can practically guarantee you some hot “multiplayer” action!
So to summarize, head on over to the thread and voice your interest. If enough people are interested this thing might actually get made. And if you hate the idea we can always go for plan B: RelicNews underwear!
I remember a couple of months ago we had a long discussion about how Warcraft 3 was much better than DoW because it had fun maps. People would complain that despite the mod tools nobody could ever make a fun map. It looks like they were wrong.
Rayden managed to cook up a little scenario map where you can summon a bloodthirster. You should check it out and demand a tower defense map immediately. Or you can just download the map and play it, because it’s fun. And it will work in multiplayer provided that other people have the map installed as well. And since more downloads means more people playing the map, your course of action should be clear. Go download now.
Are you a Trekkie? No? Good for you. Have you seen the Star Trek movies? No? Go rent them on DVD. Anyhow, Ent-E made this really cool model of the original Enterprise (and before I get a bazillion hate mails from die-hard trek fans, I know the ship is actually a Constitution class and not really the original Enterprise and Kirk never lost his left sock as claimed in Episode 1×03). The cool part about this model is that while it looks quite detailed, it’s actually only 5000 polygons large - and that means it can be imported into Homeworld 2!
Even though you should try to keep the Trek talk to a minimum, but you should definitely pay the Enterprise thread a visit, and demand to know more about the whereabouts of Kirk’s left sock.
And we’re done for this week. Happy Halloween you dolts, go scare a few people, and I hope you got tons of candy from trick-or-treating. I’m off to toilet-paper my neighbor’s house now. Bye!

And nothing in this roundup about the Dawn of War 2 thread speculation? Even when Tranj has posted some cryptic comments? :)
