Relic’s John Johnson has done a post mortem interview with Jcal over at Firing Squad. There’s some great tidbits in the article discussing various issues. I found the following quote enlightening about the vehicle pathing issues.
FiringSquad: Some reviews of the game have commented that the AI of the vehicle movement could be better. What is your response to this?
John Johnson: We spent a large part of our development on our path-finding code, specifically for the squad AI and squad behavior as it was one of the most important key features of the product. We spent a lot of time on the vehicles as well but because vehicles are larger, they always present more problems with path finding than smaller units. Overall we were happy with where we were at with vehicle pathing, but that said we are always monitoring what the fans are concerned with and always looking for ways to improve things in future patches.
You’ll also note how JJ refuses REFUSES to comment about the Homeworld game we all want them to be working on.

With the inclusion of the World Builder in the 1.3 Patch for Company of Heroes, Relic has announced a map making contest for folks to participate in.

The Company of Heroes version 1.3 patch is now available.
The patch will auto-download when you next connect to Relic Online, but you may be able to get it faster via one of the alternative download locations, including a bittorrent mirror.
Patch discussions can go in this thread, and please note that there’s a rather large bug with tank traps in 1.3 - read this thread for more information. 1.4 should be coming soon to correct this bug (and other issues).
As a side note, the 1.3 patch includes the mod tools, for which some new documentation is available on the new official Relic Mod Wiki.

Tranj dropped by the forums to let us know that there’ll be scheduled downtime tomorrow, the 13th of November from 0800 to 1100 hours US Eastern Standard Time (that’s GMT-5). Note that this is not the patch, but Tranj says that should be out in the next couple of days. Hooray!

Good news! Looks like Relic is planning a patch past the one that’s about to be released!
Buggo’s asking for your suggestions (follow the format!) in this thread
Probably a good idea to look at what’s already fixed in the upcoming patch first though.

Looks like the Relic Modding wiki has been launched!
Check it out here.
Especially interesting to note is the walk through for the CoH World Builder.
Thanks to Allie for the heads up.

We just got this bit of news from Relic:
Please be aware that the Dark Crusade ladder will be reset Friday November 10, 2006 at 9:30 AM PST. This process will take approximately 2 hours to complete, all games played during this process will not count towards player stats.
As you may or may not have noticed we are experiencing technical issues with player stats, and after several attempts to fix the issues, our last resort is to perform a total stats reset for the Dark Crusade ladder. This reset will not affect the existing Winter Assault and Dawn of War ladder. We apologize for the loss of player stats; however this fix is necessary and will benefit the community.

“4P_Gorhael_Crater”
“4P_Tiboraxxâ
“4P_Dread_Peak”
“4P_Eres_Badlands”
