In addition, there will be a pro and rookie bracket for Relic’s 1v1 tournaments. Players who play all their matches will receive a Opposing Fronts beta key.

More information on the tournaments and beta can be found in this Bloggo post.

edit: Signups are up now. Instructions can be found in this post.

Edit 2: Rookie and Pro Tournament Brackets are full.

As the title implies, THQ recently struck a deal with IGN to put up their games on Direct2Drive, a digital distribution system. Company of Heroes can be found there along with a few other THQ games like STALKER and Supreme Commander. Dawn of War isn’t up but is expected to appear.

Edit: Dawn of War can be found on D2D now.

GameAlmighty posted their interview with Remy Saville, a programmer for Company of Heroes, about the implementation of DX10 into COH and Opposing Fronts. There are some insights about the artist and programmers role in developing DX10 for COH. Here is a quick snip,

MB: How long were the DirectX 10 enhancements to the Essence Engine in development?

Remy Saville: The first lines of Direct3D 10 specific code were written well over a year before the release of the patch, long before we could even get our hands on prototype hardware. Direct3D 10 was always intended to be a part of CoH. It was an interesting experience working with a beta SDK running on a beta OS with beta drivers on prototype hardware.
