[...] I’m still very annoyed at THQ though. The multiplayer connectivity in the Beta is still functionally impaired for users behind NAT connections (behind a router essentially) in spite of the improvements from Monday’s patch. At this point, I think the best we can hope for is a Zero Day Patch that helps improve the multiplayer compared to what they have released to us in the Beta so far (I doubt there’s unreleased components that are coded and ready to go for multiplayer, as they’d have gotten them to us already). Heck, the way Relic Online is structured, they could ship the game with only the ability to sign into Relic Online, get a warning that you need a patch, and then download the actual guts of Relic Online the first time you try to get into Multiplayer.
I've been checking the ship date for CoH:OF on five different webshops here in Sweden, and they unanimously give the date 9 November.

As for amazon.co.uk, they give a release date for Duke Nuke'm Forever on 30 March 2008... Enough said. :-D

Oh, one more thing LordZon, my comments in the news post were not directed at Relic's staff that are hard at work on the project. Decisions about whether a game makes "Gold" status lie at the publisher's feet, not the developers.

DribbleSack:

I'm not forum staff anymore. That's a seperate entity all together. Buggo's away on Vacation, and I have an inquiry out to her about the gold status of the game. It looks like THQ might be moving the release to September 24th. As a side note, end of September is the end of a financial quarter for THQ by the looks of it, so that *might* explain the move to that release date.

LordZon:

So you're saying it would be *more* professional to simply smile and nod when publishers push developers to release the game before they're good to go? How about no.

Peter:

See my last post re: connectivity. Greatly improved tonight, and I look forward to testing tomorrow's patch as well.

I think he is absolutely right! The game has been like this for since day one of Vanilla COH and Uberjumper has been the one gathering up all the information and making connectivity FAQ's. Kudos to you man. So i can see that youre pretty sick of this foolishness that relic do.

I agree with your statement

Well it was stated in a few IGN video interviews that the current release date is November. Personally I think it would be suicide to release it on the 24th of September mainly because of that thing called Halo 3.

I'm aware that Relicnews is a fan site, not an official site. Still, a statement on the home page should reflect the consensus view across Relicnews staff.

It is a rather strange comment to made by a fan site too.

DribbleSack: note that Uber mentioned a "rumour". Also note that neither Uber nor Soul speak for Relic.

That was very unproffesional Uber. Telling people not to play the game. Most of us play it just fine. Have faith in Relic.
