CoH Patch 2.201 Released

Posted in Company of Heroes by on December 12th, 2007

As many of you know, the 2.201 patch has been released. This should resolve the issues with the last patch.

See Worth Playing for a mirror and release notes.

You can of course download it in game. Steam (and other users of game download services) users are reminded to NOT install or download the patch. Hopefully Relic and Valve (and the other such providers) can work together to release a patch that prevents their users from downloading until the digital download updates, or hopefully release updates at the same time :-)

So now You can focus on patch for WH40k: Dark Crusade. Please dont’t treat DC-players like worse children. At least publish nobrainer-fixes-patch. Not mention about piece of balance.

regards

hey, i know this isnt the correct place to put this but im having a problem installing the actual game. now ive installed it but it does go to a main menu of sorts. it just goes to the create relic account and i try. then it tells me that pacth is requiered to play online. i dont even want to play online, but i tried anyway as there didnt seem to be a way of playin the actual game without the patch being installed. so i do that and then it tells me that theres an error with the patch and goes back to the create account screen. how do i sort this problem out and play this game?

You can skip the patching junk by just disconecting your internet and having the disk in the drive instead.

And for those of you who receive synch errors or game crashes, this doesn’t fix a thing!

I recently purchased OP. I did not even have to install it as it appear the last patch I got had all the new content. However when I try and download and install the most recent patch…nothing happens. The patch downloads and never starts to install. The game just closes and that is that!

Are we not in trouble when the patches stop working ;)

i just had the same problem… i have restarted my computer and it didnt do anything… i tried restarting the game a few times…. the only thing i can think of doing now is downloading the patch AGAIN …only this time downloading it as a seperate exe because the ingame updater obviously doesnt work… not happy

great i just found this:

  • Please note that due to an error, if your current version is 2.103, you will need to manually apply this 2.201 patch as the in-game autopatch will not work.

…dont fix it… just get everyone to do it themselves… good work!

Interesting I have version 2.101 and the patches will not install. I have taken them from different sites and also let the auto pilot in the game get them for me. Unfortunately if I am connected to the internet I cannot play my game unless I have the patch. So unless the wise people at relic can figure out a way for the patches to work, I will just not install the new patches nor play online.
