Iron Lore will be closing down shop after Soulstorm. It seems that they couldn’t secure enough funding for their next project, so they decided to close down.
Besides Soulstorm, Iron Lore also developed Titan Quest and its expansion Immortal Throne. Both awesome games in their own genre.
I wish the employees best of luck on their future endeavors.

As a reminder, Dawn of War: Soulstorm will be released next week (3/4/08).
Here are the main features of the final expansion,
- Two new factions, The Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar
- Air unit for each of the factions
- A meta-map conquest mode will be featured for single player, but will take place in a star system(of 4 planets and a moon) rather than one planet.
Like Dark Crusade, Soulstorm will be a standalone product, but owning the previous expansions will unlock the other races to be used in multiplayer.

Buggo posted information about the next Community Appreciation Day for 2008. It will take place June 6 up in (hopefully) sunny Vancouver, Canada.
What to expect? Lots of fun, getting to meet and hang out with many folks from all around. The biggest thing I think will be that attendees will get to catch a first-look at Relic’s NSP.
In addition, Buggo will be holding another “Biggest Relic Fan Contest” for this event. The biggest fan will get a roundtrip flight to Vancouver and accommodations for two night.

Relicnews’ resident teenage genius, Corsix, has won a Grand Prize in Google’s Highly Open Participation Contest (or GHOP for short). The author of the premier modding tool Corsix’s Mod Studio as well as a Relicnews moderator, he won the prize for his numerous and substantive contributions to the Drupal open-source content management system.
You can read what Corsix has to say about winning GHOP on his website, and see his name in lights on the Grand Prize Winners page, along with some details on why Drupal selected him as the winner for their project.

I have no idea who crafted this video but it’s pretty funny and sums up the bitching you hear about game balance pretty nicely. The poor German players. ps. Apparently it’s all mukkel’s fault.

If you’re interested in the real movie, check out Downfall. Amazing acting and from what I’ve read previously a pretty accurate depiction of what went on in Berlin during the final days of the Reich.
