Oh, and P.s., I purchased this game and it's expansion through the steam network, and steam will not let you just install a patch. It forces you to download a 2.4 gigabyte file essentially redownloading the entire game from scratch and for me, being the 3rd time I've had to do this. Internet connections arent as good as they could be around here, and even though it's technically broadband, waiting for six hours of downloading (again) just to find my reason for playing it disabled - wasnt thrilling. Whatever happened to "buy a game, install it once, and play it whenever"? All the some 20 other games I've got installed on this machine have that established. I love Company of heroes. It's a great game. Unfortunatly the flaming hoops it's programmers make you jump through all too often really bring it down. I wish there were more consideration for what changes go out in these patches, and how they affect the end user. I consider myself a proffesional gamer of sorts and have been since around my 30th custom map made for doom2. I've never before encountered so many headaches.

Well heres my first grudge, I just spent 60+ hours working on my third custum map for CoH just to find that I cant play test or release because the -dev command is now disabled. Any idea as to when this will be fixed? Disabling custom content is a great way to piss off the people who have already spent hundreds of volunteer hours making new content for this community. Not being able to play single player games against the computer without a constant connection to the internet was a great way to alienate players as well. I payed for the game. The game knows I payed for it from the last 100 times I played it, and the last 20 times I clicked where I purchased it from. So why is it that every 4th time I load it, the software isnt able to figure that out? Hence forth the pinnacle of invasive registration, and thusforth irritation.
