Dawn of War 2 will be making an appearance at PAX this year with a live demo to present. Mark Noseworthy, Producer, and Jonny Ebbert, Lead Designer, will be playing the demo. The event will be followed up with a Q&A session.

In addition, there is a contest for forum members to participate in. The contest is to write a haiku about Dawn of War II. Relic t-shirts (they’re pretty fancy) and posters given away as prizes. In addition, ten front-row seats will be given for the best submitted entries. Contest details are in the link below.

Seriously, do I need to say anything else?

Ruined from THQ let us in on a project they’re working on for the upcoming Games Workshop games day in Europe. They’re working on converting a 1960s British FV432 APC into a Rhino. THQ is planning to have this completed for the GW games day.

Relic recently hired Thunder to be the senior community manager. His background includes working for Big Huge Games and Ensemble Studios. Here is a quicksnip from Planet COH’s post,

Thunder is a long-time RTS vet, having acted as community manager at both Big Huge Games and Ensemble Studios in the past. He is also an experienced RTS player, even beating strategy game designer Brian Reynolds at Rise of Legends, the very game he developed. So you know that Thunder knows his RTS games!

Can’t wait to met him. I hope he can get past mission 6 in Homeworld.

A listing for Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor showed up on Amazon. Sounds like a new expansion pack to me. There might be a connection to the Tiger Ace campaign that was seen a few weeks back.

The Balance Beta Test was finally updated yesterday. This brings the version to 2.502 and fixes Off Map Arty.

The Balance Beta runs alongside the regular version of CoH, so you can install it and have CoH still playable. Remember, top 100 players get a key for an unannounced Relic Beta.

fuggles from the forums is trying to plan out a community lan party in celebration of Dawn of War 2 and the Community. However this will only happen it there is enough community backing. So whoever is interested should go and take a look.
